Jennifer Durán

Jennifer Durán is a seasoned development professional who seamlessly bridges the gap between scientific research and philanthropy by drawing upon her unique blend of scientific training and fundraising experience. Currently serving as Senior Major Gifts Officer at Climate Central since January 2022, Jennifer plays a pivotal role in engaging individual supporters and keeping them informed about Climate Central's groundbreaking work.

Prior to Climate Central, Jennifer dedicated a decade of her career to the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), North America where she played a vital role in developing their individual giving program and advancing their foundation work in the United States. Jennifer also spent several months at the organization's Swiss headquarters in Geneva, helping to shape their private fundraising strategy.

Jennifer's journey in the nonprofit sector began while providing support to various nonprofit organizations in New York City during her time at a consulting firm. She further honed her skills while working in the individual giving department at Children's Aid. Before transitioning to fundraising, she worked in a microbiology research laboratory at the University of Virginia, earning an MA in Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences. Her educational background also includes a BA in Biological Sciences from Hunter College.
