Arielle Tannenbaum

Associate Director, Program on Attribution Science & Climate Fingerprints

Arielle Tannenbaum is the Associate Director, Program on Attribution Science & Climate Fingerprints at Climate Central. She manages a team of climate scientists, meteorologists, data analysts, and expert communicators who work together to identify climate fingerprints in daily weather and extreme events worldwide, and to communicate these connections to catalyze climate action. She also manages an international partnership to advance attribution communications.

Before Climate Central, Arielle spent over a decade in the tech startup world, building community engagement programs and designing interactive learning experiences. Throughout her career, she has worked with nonprofits, tech startups, and grassroots organizations, spanning sectors (climate communications, climate tech, food systems, health, education) and environmental focuses (extreme weather, plastic reduction & circularity, land conservation). The consistent thread through all of her work is facilitating connections and partnerships that spark positive action and impact.

Based in Philadelphia, Arielle is a leader in environmental and sustainability work in the city, committed to ongoing projects that foster circular economies while reducing dependence on single-use plastic, as well as preserving green space in urban environments.

Outside of work, you can often find her happily covered in soil in her vegetable garden, with two little kids in tow.
