Climate Central and The Weather Company, an IBM Business, Expand TV Weathercaster Access to Climate Matters Content
Princeton, NJ—May 19, 2022—To help broadcast meteorologists illustrate weather and climate change connections for television audiences, Climate Central and The Weather Company, an IBM Business, have announced an agreement to provide Climate Central content-–including analyses of climate trends, impacts, and solutions–-to the hundreds of media news organization customers using The Weather Company’s Max Platform.
Unveiled in April at the National Association of Broadcasters in Las Vegas, the relationship will provide access to Climate Matters materials for Max Velocity customers, The Weather Company’s new, cloud and browser-based video storytelling tool, and via The Weather Community, a library of assets available to all Max platform clients. The Climate Matters program was launched in 2012 to produce data, graphics and reporting resources supporting meteorologists' efforts to educate audiences about climate change's immediate, local impacts on their communities. Adding these resources into Max Velocity lets weathercaster clients quickly and easily integrate Climate Matters content directly into their usual workflow for video production.

Climate Central content will be available to Max Velocity clients within the next few months.
